My Highlight at Camp

There were so many activities I enjoyed.  But archery was my favourite.  It was exciting and it my first time playing.  I had a good experience.  It was hard aiming the arrow to the bullseye.  My shots were getting close but it didn't manage to hit the bullseye.  camp was a great experience.

Fat

Fat is what we need
Its a source of energy


Its something that we eat
But its not healthy


It comes in our food so many times
So be very clever and eat it sometimes.

Testing week

This week was testing week. The tests was on Reading, Maths and Writing. I have made progress on my Reading and Maths from the beginning of the year. But I’m still waiting for my Writing. Hopefully my Writing comes out good. I hope I keep on progressing on my work.

French

In French We were learning how to greet each other, We learnt new words like no Is non and oui is yes.

In Integrated studies Daniel and I had to pick question about the ancient Olympics and find the answer, and here are our answers to our questions.

What was given to those who won in the ancient Olympics? For the people who won got olive branches.

What events were held at the first Olympics? The events was
athletics,cycling,fencing,shooting,swimming,tennis,
weightlifting,wrestling.

When did the ancient Olympic start? 2,700 years ago. in olympia.

Who started the Olympics? The Greeks started the olympic games in 776 bc.

What was the penalty for people cheating in the ancient Olympics? If you were caught cheating, you had to pay fines.

David Copperfield

Here's a summary about chapter 2 of David Copperfield written by Charles Dickens

Chapter 2 is about Davy observing his childhood. He remembers the times his nurse/housekeeper, Peggotty use to take him to church. She also used to look after him when his Mum was out. One night his mother came home with a gentleman. The same one that escorted them home after church. His name was Mr. Murdstone. Davy did not like him.
2 months later Peggotty asked if Davy would like to spend a fortnight at her brothers, away from home. Davy was excited to leave but at the same time he was sad to leave his home and his mum.

French week 1

My narrative

It was early in the morning.  I heard a loud knock on the door.  I went to the door and I heard a strange voice coming from outside the door “hello is anyone there?” said the strange voice. I stopped and thought to myself what if it was a robber he will come and robb everything in the house.

So then I went and got the secret key from under the carpet and opened the door for the basement. I went down slowly so the person outside couldn’t hear a  squeak. when I got into the basement I hid around the corner and waited, suddenly after two minutes the person broke the window and came in.  “Hello is anyone hear I just need help” so then I went back upstairs and standing there was a man.  I asked him what do you need.  He said “I don’t know where I am, can you tell me where I am?, I told him you are in the woods and then he asked again “does anyone come here” I said no.  He asked why I told him because there are wild animals. I was still scared because this man was a stranger.

But he told me he was cold and hungry so I thought I would make him so food. However that was a bad idea because after we ate he said “give me all your money” I froze for a while and I said I thought you were lost in the woods and then he said “I always come in the woods and try to find someone to rob, now give me your money” okay here you go, so can you go away.  Then he said “but you’ve seen my face and you might go and tell the police, so then he pulled out his gun and was going to pull the trigger but then a police officer busted through the door and knocked him out and handcuffed him and took him away.  The police officer said that he was a criminal that had escaped from prison.
This has taught me not to trust strangers.

Basketball experience

“Ring ring ring!” Went the bell. we all lined up. “I thought we had basketball today.” I said to myself. Mrs Tui came in and said “Unfortunately we have to wait because the basketball guy is not here.” So Room 7 did maths to wait. While we were doing our maths Mrs Bell came in. She told Mrs Tui that the he is here. So we had to pack up and go outside. But we had to come back inside because he was getting ready. Then tevita came and told us to come.

After I met our Coach called Bruce he used to be a basketball player but now he is a coach, we all went into teams of four and all got a ball. first he told us how to dribble the ball up and down the court but all of my group had to go into other teams. Then we had a challenge to dribble the ball to our coloured cones and flip the cone over, my team won all the time.

Then our last challenge was to dribble half of the court and then come back to the hoop and shoot and try and get it in, but we lost and someone else won. Finally we put the balls back and said thank you to bruce and went to class.

Once he got the ball he saw the team that he was vs was growing over him. When he got hit by the other team they could hear his bones cracking. When he got up he was running with the line and got the ball again. All his teammates got afraid when they heard his bones crack.

My trip to Samoa

Goodbye New Zealand I said to myself on the plane as I was watching Tintin. I looked to the window .  The plane was landing.  As soon as I got out I started to sweat . It was a burning afternoon.

I rubbed my sweat off my forehead . We inside the airport to check our bags and passport. Next I said  hello to my Grandpa,Grandma and cousin.

We jumped  inside the cars. Off we went to the village of vaiusu. While we were driving I saw new things.  When we got to the village I had a look around the place. I saw pigs , dogs. We went  to have lunch we ate heaps of things like kfc, taro, fish and other island food.

After we ate we had to go to my grandmas house from my dads side. I went inside the house It was cool because they had the air conditioner on. It was time to go. We said  goodbye to them.

We went back to vaiusu and played pool for half an hour. Then we went inside and slept under the ceiling fan.

Tennis

Guess what happened on Tuesday at St Pius X school?
“ No jumpers Room 7.” said Mrs Tui. We filed into the court and was met by Marcel, the tennis instructor. It was my first time to play tennis.

Marcel told the girls to grab a racket and a tennis ball and go to the other side of the net. The boys were told to do the same. I rushed as quickly as I can. He taught us how to hold the racket correctly. We had to hold the racket like we are holding a frying pan.He showed us how to balance the ball on the tennis racket. Balancing the ball was hard.

Marcel told us partner up. My partner was Mrs Tui. He told one of our partner to go on one side of the net. His next instruction was to put down our tennis racket. Mrs Tui hit the tennis ball with a Fore Hand Hit. She hit the ball straight at me, sometimes high which made it hard to catch. It was my turn to do the same thing.

Lastly we played a game called King of the Courts. Three groups had six people. It was very fun because I became King of the Courts! Tevita was the winner of our group.
